The Offline Brain itself

Once it's installed, the AI, Wikipedia, WikiMed and the maps run on your own laptop. Your questions never leave it, and it has no account or login.

Waitlists

When you join a waitlist (the USB, the extra USB, the Mac version, or the download where it isn't on sale yet) we keep your email address, which list you joined, the country your connection comes from, the page you signed up on, and the ad link that brought you, if there was one. We use it for one thing: to email you once when that item is ready. We never sell it or share it for anyone else's marketing.

It is stored with Cloudflare, the company that runs this website. Reply to any email from us, or write to [email protected], and we'll take you off the list and delete your details.

The Meta pixel

We use a Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel to see which of our ads work. It only loads if you press Accept on the notice at the bottom of the page. If you press Decline, it never loads, and we remember that choice in your browser. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice comes back.

With your Accept, the pixel tells Meta which pages you viewed, what you added to the cart and when you went to checkout. Meta handles that under its own privacy policy.

Buying

The cart lives in your own browser until you press Checkout. Checkout and payment are run by Shopify, so your name, email, card and address go to Shopify, not to this website. Shopify's own privacy policy covers that data. We use your order email to send your download link, updates for 12 months, and replies to anything you ask us.

Your country

The site shows prices and details for your country, worked out from your connection. If you pick a country yourself, that choice is kept in a small cookie and in your browser so the site remembers it.

Asking what we hold

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time: [email protected]. Offline Brain is run from New Zealand and follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
